Critiques

:icontechgnotic:
I am struck by the depth of subtext in this piece. The subject would appear to be awaiting the arrival of her date for the evening. But there is a hardness in her expression tempering any anticipation, an expression of jaded knowing that would preclude anything but the most guarded of invitations to a possible romance. A first glance might even indicate the cynicism of a prostitute’s nightly assignation. A more thoughtful look would indicate the presence beneath the surface of a battered heart, necessarily now well-defended behind heavy defensive emotional fortifications. But, as in many of your pieces, there is the light of the streetlight valiantly (romantically?) struggling against the encroaching darkness. So there is still the hope for an undiluted joy still to be found amidst the grim reality of our lives. There is a sense of beauty, truth and love struggling to survive against the most disheartening odds in the best of your pieces. Beautiful work.

The colors you chose for this work are pure genious. i love it how you really used the cold colors and perfectlly matched them with a really warming yellow colored car that has a tramendious inpact and really brings the whole piece to stand out more

the lighting is cool and accurate only thing I would do if i were you hmm perhaps brighten up the light source wih a dodge tool or perhaps a really soft white brush.

the model fits perfectlly into the pic and since she is placed so that her colors contrast the ones in the background it really makes her stand out.

love it ^^

hope my crit. was fair.

:cuddle:
